Toyota Collaborates with Trusted Company Group to Increase Reliability

You may be wondering if it's possible for Japanese automaker Toyota to get any more reliable. After all, the brand is constantly being recognized for making some of the most steadfast vehicles in the auto industry. However, the automaker has found a way to improve itself even more by joining with Trusted Computing Group. This company will aid Toyota by providing higher reliability for its in-vehicle electronic systems and networks. After all, with this portion of the auto market growing so quickly, it's important to make sure that technologies keep functioning properly.

Seigo Kotani, TCF Director and Embeeded System Work Group Co-Chair explains the company's purpose, stating, "As stated in the January 2012 report published by the U.S. National Research Council (NRC) Transportation Research Board, automotive electronic devices are becoming more and more useful. If we can bring together the technical knowledge of our member companies, such as Toyota and others, I believe that greater security/reliability for high-precision automotive systems can be achieved, and that international standard specifications for realizing driver and passenger safety can be formulated."1 TCG's three major efforts in partnership with Toyota will include: ensuring consistency of system and data, safeguarding stored information, and crafting a secure authentication method for accessing the systems.

Ira Toyota of Milford, conveniently located at 300 Fortune BLVD Milford, MA, is excited to see that Toyota's products will be even more reliable than ever, and we can't wait to see the fruit of the two company's ventures!
