This fourth-generation of Prius vehicles will be much lighter and more aerodynamic. Toyota is even talking with tire makers to obtain low-rolling resistance tires to outfit the fourth-generation of vehicles. Of course, a more aerodynamic vehicle also means a more fuel-efficient vehicle, and when you consider the fact that these models are already very efficient, this is quite exciting.
The weight of the Prius has gradually gone up through the years, though the new Prius c compact car is quite a bit lighter than the other models in the series. Of course, Toyota must also keep costs in mind. With a lighter weight comes more expensive materials, and the company will want to keep the Prius affordable for drivers everywhere.
